Assistant Professor of Pediatrics
The Section of Genetics, Department of Pediatrics and the Children’s Medical Research Institute Program of Excellence, The University of Oklahoma Health Science Center, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, seek a full-time faculty member with the rank of Assistant Professor.
The Genetics Section, with four physicians, six genetic counselor positions, two metabolic professionals, its own cytogenetics and molecular genetics service and research laboratories, and molecular genetics epidemiology laboratory conducts original research, provides clinical and clinical laboratory services for much of Oklahoma, and trains medical students, pediatric and pathology residents, and offers a Masters degree in Genetic Counseling.
The successful candidate will be Board-certified in Pediatrics; he/she will have ABMG-certifications in Clinical Genetics or will be eligible to sit for the next examinations; preference is for certification also in clinical Biochemical Genetics. A high priority in selection will be on laboratory and/or clinical research creativity and potential for independent funding. Generous start-up and protected time are provided. Must have or be eligible for Oklahoma medical license.
