Diabetes/Endocrinology – CMRI Endowed Chair(s)

The Section of Pediatric Diabetes and Endocrinology within the Department of Pediatrics at the University of Oklahoma seeks two candidates with senior-level research expertise in endocrinology and metabolism. These positions may be filled with either a Ph.D. or M.D. Successful candidates for these positions will assume Children’s Medical Research Institute endowed chairs at the level of Associate or Full Professor.

The successful candidates will join an active, growing section with 2 pediatric endocrinologists, 3 Pediatric Endocrine fellows, 2 Ph.D. research scientists, one Pharm. D., 1 nurse practitioner, and 4 diabetes educators in a busy academic clinical setting. These chairs will assume administrative and management responsibilities for a team of researchers, and will assist in the development, expansion, and ongoing performance of a research program in endocrinology and metabolic diseases including diabetes mellitus. Protected time and support will be provided to develop their research programs, with the expectation that independent extramural funding will be acquired in due time, if not already at the time of employment.

The University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center includes seven colleges and seventeen other institutions and serves as our state’s principal medical education and research facility. The Department of Pediatrics is composed of 16 sections and more than 100 faculty members and is based at Children’s Hospital at OU Medical Center, which is the only comprehensive tertiary and quaternary health care facility in the state dedicated to the care of children. The faculty shares a common commitment to serving and protecting the well being of the state’s children as well as providing a quality education to trainees.
