Conference Overview
The health of pre-teens and young adults is very complex – they are too old for pediatric care and not quite old enough for adult medicine. In the past, issues like obesity and sexual/reproductive health were seen as more of an “adult” problem; today more and more of these types of issues are seen in younger patients. Obesity rates seem to be on the rise, depression and eating disorders in young adults are not uncommon, more young people are sexually active, and it is not unusual to see complex sports injuries. Advances in Adolescent Medicine will focus on these and other types of medical issues giving today’s healthcare professional the information and tools they need to provide the best possible care to their pre-teen and young adult patients. The OUHSC Department of Pediatrics and the Irwin H. Brown Office of Continuing Medical Education invite you to mark your calendars and pre-register today!
